Megan Thee Stallion Officially Debuts Relationship with NBA Star Klay Thompson

Just one week after a perceived hard launch of her new relationship with Dallas Mavericks shooting guard Klay Thompson on Instagram, Megan Thee Stallion definitively put her new romance on display on the red carpet.

The rapper and the NBA player made their official debut together as a couple on July 16 at her inaugural Pete & Thomas Foundation Gala in New York City, where she told Page Six, “I have never dated somebody so kind.”

“This is my first relationship where I’ve ever been with somebody who’s genuinely a nice person, and he makes me genuinely happy,” she added. “I just never dated somebody like him before, and I’m just grateful that he’s here by my side and he feels the same way about me.”

Megan—wearing a stunning halter-neck black gown with a silver belt for last night’s event—posted a photo to Instagram just last week on July 9 where Thompson was subtly featured in the background. Fans quickly picked up on it, and Thompson responded in kind last weekend, making their relationship Instagram-official on July 12 with photos of him and Megan kissing and holding hands while on vacation.

“Oh, we met and it was such a meet cute,” Megan told People on Wednesday. “It was like a f—king movie. I won’t tell you how and I won’t tell you when, but it was a movie.”

“He’s the nicest person I’ve ever met in my life,” she continued.

The name of Megan’s foundation honors the last name of the rapper’s late parents, Joseph Pete III and Holly Thomas. “I feel like they can see what I’m doing right now,” Megan told People. “I feel like they’re looking down on me from heaven and I feel like they’re like, ‘Yes, daughter!’ I feel like my mama’s so happy.”
