Hulu’s latest dating show is about a bunch of virgins, and we don’t mean that pejoratively. The contestants on Are You My First? are all self-described virgins of limited sexual experience—for a variety of reasons—looking for partners with whom they can take that next step.
This show will either be a fresh, sex-positive look at the difference between sex, romance, love, and intimacy and demystify the adult virgin once and for all… or turn out to be the most crass reality TV attention grab since The Swan. In the meantime, here’s everything we know about it:
Are You My First? is hosted by Colton Underwood and Kaitlyn Bristowe
Both of the co-hosts are alums of the Bachelor and Bachelorette franchises and, interestingly enough, both are queer; Underwood is gay while Bristowe is bisexual, suggesting that the show (f.k.a. Virgin Island) will be a non-judgmental space for people to explore sexuality in all forms and define for themselves what counts as “first.”

There are 21 contestants
Ranging in age from 23 to 34, the contestants, all American, cite a variety of reasons for why they haven’t yet had sex. Many were raised in religious households, and some still plan to wait for marriage, love, or a serious relationship. Some simply haven’t felt ready yet. Check out the full list, below.
