    What I’ve Had Done

Here’s the truth: Injectables, treatments, and cosmetic procedures are wildly popular and often very effective. Another truth? We’re tired of the stigma attached to “getting something done” and exhausted with the notion we’re supposed to keep it secret. With our series, What I’ve Had Done, we’re laying out the details about our injectable routines, favorite lasers, and any nips or tucks we’ve tried. Then, we’re asking celebrities, founders, and influencers the same questions. No judgment, no shame—just helpful recommendations and honest information. Let’s get into it.

When Kylie Jenner dropped her boob job recipe in a TikTok comment, something shifted. Overnight, transparency became the new beauty currency. Dozens of influencers followed suit and shared their own breast augmentation specifics. Shark Tank‘s Barbara Corcoran told us about her ear filler schedule. But for Bling Empire star Christine Chiu—who founded Beverly Hills Plastic Surgery alongside her husband Dr. Gabriel Chiu—transparency is far more than a passing trend.

On and off camera, honesty comes naturally to Chiu. When I ask her to list everything she’s gotten done, her face visibly lights up. She talks with genuine excitement about the red light therapy and oxygen treatments she got on her back. When I follow her around Paris Couture Week, she’s refreshingly earnest: Two hours after meeting her for the first time, we’re sipping pornstar martinis together at a Chanel dinner as she gives me relationship advice.

Ahead, Chiu spoke to Byrdie about everything from the work she’s gotten done to how she feels about this new wave of transparency.

    What’s Currently In My Face

“I have leftover filler in my lips—I do Juvederm Ultra XC—and it’s about two years old. I also have leftover filler in my nasolabial folds. I need a touch-up because I smile too much! I have a little bit of Botox in my whiskers, and then also along my eyes and my frown lines.

“I use Botox, Daxxify, and Dysport, depending on which area and what I need. Daxxify lasts longer, but Botox is the strongest. I want to have expression still, so I use less Botox and more Dysport, which spreads out more and gives you a more natural feel. Dr. Chiu is actually very conservative with me—he always says that it’s better to layer than to put in too much.”

The Last Cosmetic Treatment I Tried

“Sylfirm X. It’s radiofrequency microneedling with exosomes applied. I lost all of my hair, and it just started growing back. My husband’s been injecting all sorts of things like exosome stem cells to get it to grow again, and it’s working.”

What I Did to Prepare for Paris Couture Week

“I did Sylfirm X, and Emsculpt on my arms and my abs. And Ultherapy for a snatched neck. I always, always, always do a facial—this time I got a 111SKIN facial. Mask on the plane, mask every night. Baby G and I mask together.

“Oh, and I can’t forget my back. I get a facial on my back too. I do dermaplaning, microdermabrasion, oxygen facial, and red light therapy on my back.

“Here’s the thing about couture week—a lot of the shows are during the day, when the lighting hates you. So you need to prep the skin. One of my secret weapons is The Whoo Imperial Youth Cream. It’s so nourishing for skin that’s going through lots of glam, lots of travel, and lots of dehydration.”

    My Injectable Schedule

“I get things touched up whenever I look in the mirror and I say, ‘oh shit.’ That time frame should be every six to nine months, but I stretch it out because I’m really, really, really busy. I’ve been getting a little lazy with my upkeep, but one of my goals is to prioritize myself. It’s like when your house needs paint—you don’t let it crack all the way, you constantly maintain it. You need to keep your house looking fresh.”

    My Anti-Aging Advice

“Get a good plastic surgeon. Obviously, diet, exercise, and a healthy lifestyle are important. But have a good aesthetic partner—whether that’s a dermatologist, esthetician, a plastic surgeon, or, better yet, all of the above. Don’t figure things out on your own. Don’t let TikTok decide what you’re getting done.”

    My Favorite Plastic Surgeon

“Obviously my husband. He’s super anal. He doesn’t treat his patients like guinea pigs; he perfects something before he puts it on a patient. He’s known to be very natural—he likes a gentle snatch, which is what I like.

“He’s gentle, collaborative, and he listens. He doesn’t impose his ways on someone. Sometimes a plastic surgeon has a set mindset of how they want you to look, as opposed to listening to you. But my husband will often say no, and I think there’s power in no.”

Thoughts on the Stigma Surrounding Cosmetic Procedures, Treatments, and Injections

“My husband has been in practice for 25 years. In the past, his high-profile clients would see him at events and they’d beeline the other direction, because they were afraid that if people saw them chatting, they would connect the dots. There was a weird shame to it.

“But people are like sheep, right? One person started being transparent about their plastic surgery, and the reception was great. The bigger picture is that we’ve entered a new era of not gatekeeping. People are starting to feel comfortable talking about what they’ve gotten done. About time.”
