The high-fashion modeling world is made up of a relatively small circle, so close-knit friendships are bound to evolve among rising runway stars. There’s a reason why supers like Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell, and Linda Evangelista are still pals today: When you go through the fashion trenches together, a certain bond is formed.
Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner, Vogue’s new October cover stars, are among runway fixtures who have formed an indelible bond over the years. Since they first began their careers in the early 2010s, the pair has consistently been spotted together—both on and off the clock. Their individual personal styles, meanwhile, have anointed them some of today’s most watched trendsetters and street style stars.

Even in the early days of their modeling careers, you could regularly find Jenner and Hadid hanging out in their downtime. Their teen looks were often complete with ripped jeans, khaki-green jackets, and those thin black choker necklaces of the time. It didn’t take long for the paparazzi to begin documenting their street style. As the years have progressed, Jenner and Hadid can rarely step out without making headlines; Together, they have the ability to set whole fashion movements, whether in twinning hairstyles or enjoying a ballerina flat summer.
Sometimes, they make a joint splash on the runway, too. At last year’s star-studded Vogue World: Paris show, Hadid and Jenner made waves when they hit the Place Vendôme riding horses. It was a fitting move, given they are both avid equestrians and grew up riding.
