On September 7, Gomez’s longtime manicurist Tom Bachik reposted a photo of the star taking a mirror selfie. Her custom airbrushed “Rare” t-shirt was front and center, but my eyes went right to her nails, which were painted a peachy-copper shade with a metallic finish that caught the light just-so. Her nails were kept in a natural short length with a softly rounded shape. Bachik dubbed the look a “toasted mani,” and he’s spot on—it’s just one step warmer than nude, as if her nails had spent a day soaking up the late-summer sun.

Luckily, Bachik shared exactly how he got the look, and it couldn’t be easier to copy at home. As always, he started with his Tweezerman x Tom Bachik tools to shape and prep the nails. Then, he went in with the polish. For the toasted look, he used Essie’s Special Effects line in Liquid Sunrise, which would also be a great name for this manicure. Finally, he finished off the look with a coat of his very own Click Colors polish in the shade Super Clear.
