“This mascara is a great option for sensitive eyes because it’s fragrance-free, ophthalmologist-tested, and specifically designed with contact lens wearers and those prone to irritation in mind,” says board-certified dermatologist Marisa Garshick, MD, FAAD. “It provides volume and definition without clumping or flaking, which helps to minimize discomfort.” Ophthalmologist Ashley Brissette, MD, MSC, FRCSC, calls the formula her daily go-to. “It builds volume and length for natural-looking lashes with a boost,” she says. There’s also a waterproof version available. “I don’t normally recommend waterproof [mascara] because it can be hard to remove, but this formulation is waterproof and still gentle, offering all-day volume and length,” Dr. Brissette says.
Testing notes: Our testers liked that it didn’t require a lot of layering to see results. “I tend to pile on a lot of mascara for a dramatic, voluminous look, but that’s basically a recipe for clumping and smudges,” says Glamour contributor Ariel Wodarcyk. “With this mascara, I can achieve full, fanned-out volume with just two coats, and it lasts all day. I love wiggling the wand at the base of my lashes to create a tightlined effect without actually using eyeliner. I tested the black shade for this story, but I’m really dying to get my hands on the iconic Black Honey iteration.”
