Economical gift set
I really struggled deciding between 3 and 4 stars for this one. Per item, this is a pretty cheap skincare set with popular ingredients like turmeric and vitamin C. Unfortunately, despite setting my expectations fairly low, I was somewhat disappointed.First off, I feel like someone may have just copied the description for another set without checking for accuracy, the about this product and directions sections of the listing both directly reference a cleanser. I could maybe, possibly, see an argument the tear off mask functions as a cleanser but the instructions listed online are clearly for a different product and do not match the ones printed on the back of the box. This does not inspire a lot of confidence and the lack of a proper cleanser is a weird choice for a multi piece skincare routine.I did not love that all the ingredients and instructions are printed on the back of the box versus the products themselves. The box itself is surprisingly nice, it’s a lot thicker and well made than you’d expect from this price point so it has great presentation for a gift. This really feels like something you’d grab for as a generic filler or swap gift if you were after something vaguely girly under $20 that looked like it was more expensive. The Korean on the products would let you play it off as trendy kbeauty to the unaware. That also feels a little misleading since the address on the back is very much in China. I’m not going to say kbeauty cant’t be manufactured in China, but this brand seems to have very little digital footprint or anything indicating any sort of popularity.I found the actual products universally underwhelming. Some had a yellow tint that would support the inclusion of turmeric and a light citrusy scent often found in other vitamin c products, The tear off mask was a little fun but didn’t seem to provide much benefit in terms of skin softness or reduction in pore visibility. Mineral oil seems to be doing a lot of the heavy lifting in several of the products. It’s not an inherently problematic ingredient, but not the best fit for my skin personally since it either clogs my pores or seals in other dirt/oil/etc to clog them. I didn’t find anything irritating but I’m not particularly sensitive. You might see some minimal benefits but nothing too wild.
