What side of the summer shorts spectrum have you landed on? Are you Team Itty Bitty with Charli? Big Shorts Brigade? A jorts disciple like J-Law and Margot Robbie? While everyone engages in the great shorts debate, Rihanna keeps it classic in a denim mini-skirt.
The pop star and beauty mogul—who was spotted leaving the Four Seasons Hotel in New York City with partner A$AP Rocky and their children on Friday—opted for a dark-wash denim skirt with the inside pockets and raw hems on show from Danish designer (and Marni CD) Meryll Rogge. She paired the nostalgic staple with a candy pink Miu Miu track jacket with the collar popped (also, very aughts) and her fave pair of Amina Muaddi snakeskin strappy sandals. (Because whether day or night, red carpet or jaunt to Giorgio Baldi, you can trust Rih is wearing some kind of animal print.) Accessories were signature: a gold choker, gold and diamond earrings, and rose-tinted aviator sunglasses.
Glam was also textbook Rihanna, wearing her hair in voluminous curls, with a blood-red manicure and white pedicure, plus a glossed brown lip.

The denim mini-skirt has been having a slow—but not insignificant—revival. We can trace it back to the second advent of indie sleaze, when the first time around it was pushed by brands like Diesel, Miss Sixty, FCUK, and Cheap Monday. Most recently, Jonathan Anderson proposed the denim mini as part of his very first womenswear collection for Dior, then worn faithfully by Jenna Ortega, who paired it with an also-of-the-era military jacket-vest.
