You might expect the souvenir contents of a stylist-turned-home goods shop owner’s suitcase to be fairly straightforward: a vintage silk scarf here, a few collected dishes from a local brocante there. But lately, Beverly Nguyen, the stylist, editor, and founder of homewares concept shop Beverly 1975, has been filling hers with slightly more unexpected fare: “My Rimowa is full of hardware and cooking tools,” she says. “I’ve been spending a lot of time in Paris and London, and I love exploring new restaurants, kitchenware shops, and vintage jewelry showrooms.”
As for the rest of her carry-on (a small aluminum one she’s relied on for a decade), the packing list follows a more predictably glamorous route. There’s a handful of Saint Laurent accessories, from a pair of sky-high stilettos to zhuzh up an outfit to a sleek leather compact case. There’s a smattering of sparkling accessories, from Charlotte Chesnais’s sculptural creations to a Marco Bicegno diamond-detailed ring. Then there’s her travel outfit: smart and polished, with a notable twist—Nguyen is a fan of heels on the plane, proving once and for all that there’s never a wrong venue for a Sandy Liang mule.

Next on her travel schedule is a trip back to London, right in time for fashion week. “I’m feeling experimental and well-dressed, but also ready to run around,” says Nguyen of her capsule wardrobe. “My tip: Map out your nearest pharmacies to pick up essentials, because we’re keeping it to a carry-on. These are the pieces I hope will see me through the week!”
