Taylor Swift is no slouch in the “famous friends” department (not for nothing do I still dream of being invited to her one of her old celebrity-studdied Independence Day parties), but the latest pal that she was spotted watching a football game with wasn’t a fellow pop star or model—it was none other than Tom Cruise.

“She was schooling me on football,” Cruise admitted during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Thursday, recalling his visit to Arrowhead Stadium on Monday to see Swift’s husband, Travis Kelce, and the rest of the Chiefs take on the Denver Broncos in Kansas City. “She was bringing the football. First of all, she’s a genius. I’ve been following her since she was a kid. Everybody there, all their friends…they’re a beautiful couple and magical in their own right.”
And he went on! “She’s funny. She’s got such a great sense of humor. A brilliant writer, also. Brilliant musician, director, very skilled…” I mean, Cruise does famously love to emote, but I agree!
