Entering the Swarovski flagship on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan feels a bit like stepping inside a glittering jewelry box—as bold emerald, fuchsia, and yellow interiors transport you somewhere between the enchanted world of Wicked and the technicolor fantasy of Marilyn Monroe’s Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend. On Thursday evening, guests were fully immersed in it all as the brand hosted a cocktail party to celebrate Swarovski Classica, its latest collection, which debuted on September 1.
Actors Camila Morrone, Paul Anthony Kelly, François Arnaud, and singer Ejae were all in attendance—each wearing pieces from the line but with their own special twist. Morrone kept it sleek in a black bodycon dress, allowing her jewelry to do the talking. Oscar-winning star Ejae—who attended her first Met Gala as a guest of the brand earlier this year—opted for a romantic-leaning look with her pink floral Mark Gong number. Kelly pinned a crystal brooch to his mustard-hued suit, while Arnaud stepped out in Saint Laurent. The Heated Rivalry heartthrob’s favorite part, though, was a stack of Classica bangles he wore on his right wrist. “I wanted to stack one more,” he joked, “but my stylist said no.”
Inspired by the natural beauty of a calla lily, Swarovski Classica is rooted in the idea of everyday elegance. Fluid, geometric shapes mimic the soft curves of the flower, rendered in sterling silver and Swarovski Zirconia.
Beyond the sweeping bubblegum-pink marble staircase, DJ Lola Leon mixed ambient beats and there was plenty more sparkle to marvel at. Not just jewelry, but also crystal-encrusted eyewear, footwear, clothing, and countless figurines proving that just about anything looks better covered in Swarovski.
Mirrored walls offered guests the perfect excuse to snap a quick selfie or touch up their lip gloss. Even Love Story’s Kelly got distracted by his own reflection, pausing in front of one mirror to zhuzh his curls before moving on to the next dazzling display.
