All anybody in New York can talk about this morning—from the water cooler to the group chats—is how abruptly summer ended and fall announced itself. While one could get away with thigh-grazing hemlines earlier this weekend, by Monday morning it was undeniably sweater weather.
Emily Ratajkowski is more than ready to put away her cutoffs and embrace the cooler temps. On Sunday, the model stopped by a Brooklyn farmer’s market for an autumnal bouquet—all rich oranges and dusky browns—which coordinated with her fall ’fit. Ratajkowski went full throttle on seasonal fashion staples, her espresso brown straight-legged corduroy trousers pooling around her sandy suede Ugg boots. Finding the middle ground between cozy and witchy, Ratajkowski injected her own brand of downtown cool into her festive fall outfit with a pair of outsized, bug-eyed sunglasses.

Ratajkowski’s fall table-setter was less Christian Girl Autumn, more Meryl Streep’s Clarissa Vaughan in The Hours: purple-lensed oval sunglasses replaced with outsized bug-eyed shades, blues and oranges swapped for black and brown, and heeled boots traded for Uggs.
So, as the weather cools down, take heed from Emily Ratajkowski and add a little pumpkin spice to your outfit.
