Italian beauty goes beyond looks: It’s a lifestyle and state of being. “Italian beauty is deeply tied to identity, uniqueness, and the art of being,” writes Vogue Italia’s Veronica Cristino. “Not to mention a healthy dose of drama and self-deprecating humor.”
Last night, Vogue World: Milano 2026 held court at the city’s Galleria, paying homage to the great fashion capital and its long history of craftsmanship and innovation. As Vogue World: Milano’s creative director, Juan Costa Paz, said of tonight’s festivities, “Italians have always been the leaders of craft.”
Along with the fashion spectacle of archival pieces and ornate designs—told in five acts to highlight the most important moments in Italian fashion history—we were blessed with beauty looks that define the spirit of la dolce vita. The show opened with works and looks inspired by the Renaissance, with models like Vittoria Ceretti wearing long ponytails and braids with their brocade-detailed gowns. Moving through Act III, celebs and models like Cardi B and Alex Consani represented the Italian diva; inspired by Federico Fellini and the golden age of Italian cinema, celebs wore bright colors, big voluminous hair, and bold lipstick. The show’s finale included a live performance by Alicia Keys, and models like Gigi Hadid walked down the runway in ethereal, romantic hair and luminous highlighter on their cheeks for an angelic glow with their white and cream gowns, as a cheers to the future.
And those in the crowd are also giving major Italian beauty inspo. Italian actor Greta Ferro wears a classic bold red lip and slicked-back hairdo. Singer Levante wears a glam and voluminous Italian bob. And only Italian icon Monica Bellucci could look as cool with just sunglasses and fringe.
