Dove Cameron and Damiano David are officially married! As shared exclusively with Vogue, the couple tied the knot this weekend at a private ceremony in Tuscany—and just four days before the wedding weekend celebrations, we joined Dove in Rome to pay a visit to the Valentino ateliers in Rome and try on her wedding dress for the very last time.
“Ciao, Vogue!” the musician and actor says before the final fitting, sitting at an outdoor café and reflecting on the experience of planning the wedding. “I never really dreamed about what my wedding would look like when I was a little girl—I think I wanted to rent out Carnegie Hall and enter in a big, black dress made out of feathers and have a 32-piece orchestra playing,” she says. And while she jokingly describes herself as “wildly unprepared” for the wedding ahead, she also notes: “It feels right. It feels natural. It feels easy. It feels like a natural, beautiful next step. I don’t know how else to describe it. I’m in love, [and] we’re throwing a big party.”

Soon, it’s time to head up to the atelier, located within the Italian fashion brand’s headquarters, which sits right next to the city’s iconic Spanish Steps. There, Dove allows herself to be guided by her stylist Marc Eram into a moodily lit, wood-paneled room filled with antique furniture—then opens her eyes and gasps. “Oh my God!” she exclaims. “I’ve never seen it with the full thing with the veil on the mannequin. Every time that I see it, it really is like seeing it for the first time.”
