Reese Witherspoon and Gwyneth Paltrow are enjoying “some summer fun” in each other’s company, as evidenced by the Legally Blonde star’s latest Instagram post. On Monday, Witherspoon shared a new carousel featuring her good friend Paltrow,
“Saddled up for summer,” Witherspoon said in the caption.
She and the Politician actress pose in sleeveless dresses in the carousel’s lead image. Witherspoon selected a striped satin slip, tying a white sweater around her shoulders. Metallic T-strap sandals completed her look. Paltrow, meanwhile, opted for a simple black dress, gold rings, and yellow peep-toe flats.
“Some Summer fun,” Witherspoon added in her Instagram Stories repost.
In two additional makeup-free snaps, Witherspoon nuzzles a dappled white horse and smirks for a selfie.
Witherspoon appeared in an Instagram Reel of Paltrow’s last September. “Summer was good to us,” Paltrow captioned the clip, which also included photos of her kids Apple and Moses.
A new biography about Paltrow hits shelves this week. Gwyneth: The Biography charts the actress’s career in the spotlight, including her past high-profile relationships.
In an excerpt of Amy Odell’s upcoming volume, out July 29, the author claims that Paltrow put up a front in public after Brad Pitt moved on with Jennifer Aniston.
At the Toronto International Film Festival premiere of her film Duets in 2000, Paltrow’s eyes reportedly became “daggers” after she was questioned about Pitt’s marriage to Aniston. Following Paltrow and the Fight Club star’s breakup in 1997, he married Aniston within three years.
“The reporter then asked how she felt about Brad Pitt marrying Jennifer Aniston [in July of that year]. ‘Are you really asking me this question?’ Gwyneth replied, her eyes now ‘daggers,'” the excerpt of Gwyneth: The Biography, published in Us Weekly, reads. “‘I can’t comment on this kind of thing.’ In reality, Gwyneth confided to friends that she’d felt sad when she learned they were getting married. (She was also fond of telling them that Brad ‘has terrible taste in women.’)”
