January Jones’s rarely-seen son made his first red carpet appearance in years as he joined the Mad Men alum at an oceanic charity event on Saturday. The 13-year-old took his plus-one duties seriously, towering next to his mom as they attended the SeaChange Summer Party at Montage Laguna Beach.
Jones, who famously played Betty Draper opposite Jon Hamm’s Don Draper, appeared to take inspiration from her Mad Men era for her latest red carpet appearance. Wearing her platinum blonde hair in a retro, flipped-out style with a black headband, the actress embodied ‘60s glam in a sleeveless boatneck black dress, which featured subtle pleats in its A-line skirt. A pair of black patent leather sandal heels, a rose lipstick, and small gold hoops finished off Jones’s effortlessly elegant look.

Meanwhile, Xander—who last made an appearance at the October 2021 SeaChange Summer Party in Laguna Beach alongside Ted Danson, Laura Dern, Mary Steenburgen, and Sam Waterston—opted for a cream and gray-striped dress shirt with shorts sleeves, which he paired with light linen slacks, gold chains, and black-and-white tennis shoes.

While Jones is notoriously private about her family (she shared a selfie from the pair’s latest outing with a blue heart over Xander’s face), she gave fans a glimpse of her son’s playful side for his birthday in 2023. In an Instagram video, the tween could be seen dancing from behind while wearing a Michael Jordan basketball jersey.

Jones has never revealed who Xander’s father is, telling The New York Times in 2013, “That’s my son’s business. It’s not the public’s business.” Meanwhile, in 2017, she opened up about raising Xander as a single mom, including making sure he has plenty of positive male role models in his life.
“Xander has a lot of bro time with the neighbor dads and my dad, who is super young. It’s good to have strong women around a man to teach him to respect women,” she told Red at the time. “He doesn’t have a male person saying ‘don’t cry’ or ‘you throw like a girl. All those shitty things that dads accidentally do.”
