Last Friday, I was organizing my bathroom when I came to a startling realization: I own a scary number of body lotions. While I’ve always known that body care is one of my favorite beauty categories to shop for, nothing reveals an obsession like a good old deep clean.
Despite my vast collection, I noticed that many of my body care products are extremely similar and don’t offer any benefits beyond hydration. Unlike a typical lotion, this product not only moisturizes the skin, but also firms, smooths, and brightens it as well. Now that I’m in my minimalist era (or at least, trying very hard to be), I’m all for a product that packs a punch and provides multiple benefits at once.

As someone with sensitive skin who has been using Dove soaps for years, I wasn’t surprised to see that this serum is filled with dermatologist-approved ingredients. First is pro-retinol, which is a derivative of retinol. ICYMI, retinol is the skin care all-star that’s included in many anti-aging formulas. “Retinol is perhaps the best-studied ingredient of all time—it helps to improve the appearance of aging skin including softening texture, evening out tone, lightening hyperpigmentation, enhancing radiance, minimizing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles,” dermatologist Joshua Zeichner, MD, previously told InStyle. Also present in the formula is niacinamide to smooth skin and reduce hyperpigmentation and collagen to provide moisture.
The body serum has been purchased by over 4,000 shoppers in the past month, and plenty of those people have left glowing reviews. A 70-year-old shopper whose skin previously looked “like road maps” said their “dimples and sagging skin” are “pretty much gone” after use. Reversing signs of aging isn’t the body serum’s only benefit, either; one shopper called the product their “favorite lotion in 40 years,” adding that the scent is “light, so it goes with any perfume.” Another reviewer said it “absorbs quickly, leaving your skin feeling smooth,” and noted that there’s “no greasy or sticky slimy feeling.” The same shopper mentioned that even after applying the product at night, their skin “still feels very soft [the] next day.” Finally, a third shopper with “really dry skin” said the “must-have” serum gives them a “moisturizing glow.”
