After years of making headlines for her enviable skin, Martha Stewart is officially entering the beauty game with a line of skin care products. On Instagram the 84-year-old mogul announced her brand Elm Biosciences, which she described as “intentional skin care for living and aging well.”

Launching September 17, Elm Biosciences has been five years in the making and was developed in partnership with Dhaval Bhanusali, MD, Stewart’s longtime dermatologist and founder of Hudson Dermatology and Laser Surgery in New York City. In a press release Stewart detailed her journey to the brand, citing product prototypes as the secret behind her famously smooth skin.

“I set out years ago to take care of my skin,” Stewart said. “Along the way I met Dr. Bhanusali, and we started doing our research and development to create a skin care line unlike any other. I have been using our products for the last five years in all developmental iterations, and I must say I am extremely pleased with the results.”

Elm Biosciences will launch with two founding products, a serum and a skin supplement, which aim to restore skin appearance, support the barrier, and improve resilience. The A3O Elemental Serum ($150) is described as a “first-of-its-kind” antioxidant serum featuring A3O Complex to target signs of aging from UV damage, pigmentation, dehydration, and irritation, while the Inner Dose Daily Skin Supplement ($50) is a capsule formulated to “address internal triggers of aging like inflammation, oxidative stress, and hormonal imbalance.”

Dr. Bhanusali, who is also the dermatologist behind brands like Rhode and Skin Medicinals, added that Elm Biosciences uses lab innovations yet to be applied to modern skin care. “Our goal is to bring novel molecules and complexes to skin care that reset the expectations we have for what products can do,” Dr. Bhanusali said. “While Martha has always led in ‘farm to table,’ Elm is our answer to ‘lab to consumer.’”
