We put the Saie Slip Tint Undetectable Baked Setting Powder to the test after receiving a complimentary sample from the brand. Keep reading for our full product review.
Finding the ideal setting powder can be tricky: Some effectively control oil but leave the skin looking cakey, while others create a radiant finish but require frequent touch-ups. After finishing my last pressed powder, I’ve been looking for a new product to set my makeup. When I found out Saie was releasing the Slip Tint Undetectable Baked Setting Powder, I was excited to learn more. It aims to blur, smooth, and brighten the skin while setting makeup and absorbing excess oil, so I wanted to see if it would strike the right balance for me. Read on for my full review of this setting powder, from the texture to the wear time.
About My Skin: Sensitive, combination, and prone to dry patches
After years of treating teenage and adult acne, my skin is in a much better place. These days, I don’t experience as many breakouts, and I have a minimal skincare routine that keeps my sensitive, combination skin hydrated and balanced. Day-to-day, I don’t always wear makeup, especially when I am working from home. When I do wear it, I like to keep my look natural and embrace my skin’s radiance.
Right now, I like to wear the Make Up For Ever Super Boost Skin Tint with concealer, blush, and mascara. To lock my makeup in, I use the Anastasia Beverly Hills Impeccable 24HR Blurring Matte Setting Spray. While the spray sets my makeup effectively, my skin is drier than it was before, so I could use an option that preserves more radiance and moisture. Since the Slip Tint setting powder gives the skin a natural-to-radiant finish, I was excited to give it a try.

The Formula: Non-caking, smoothing, and brightening
The Saie Slip Tint setting powder has a lightweight, skin-like finish that blurs, brightens, and smooths the texture of the skin. Translucent and undetectable, this powder absorbs excess oil and shine, gives the skin a natural, radiant finish, and is easy to reapply without the product settling into fine lines, accentuating texture, or leaving visible excess. Formulated with the brand’s Baked by Saie technology, the Slip Tint powder hydrates, is long-wearing, and is safe for sensitive and acne-prone skin.
How to Apply: Sweep all over the skin
While applying the setting powder should be a similar experience to any other pressed powder, Saie does have a few recommendations for getting the best results. First, the brand emphasizes that the product appears lighter in the pan and suggests selecting the lighter option if you’re between shades. Once you’re ready to apply, you’ll want to use a larger, fluffy brush, lightly swirling it all over the pan before gently sweeping the powder across your skin to set your makeup.

The Wear Time: Solid all day, with a few touch-ups needed
When I first applied the Slip Tint Setting Powder, I went without foundation to get a feel for the product on its own, using only a small amount of concealer under my eyes. Using Saie’s All-Over Powder Brush to apply shade 4 to my face and shade 3 to set my under-eyes, I immediately noticed how smooth and natural the result was. To see if the product would look much thicker, I swapped Saie’s brush for a dense brush with shorter bristles and applied two more layers of powder. I was happy to see that it wasn’t cakey at all: Instead, my skin looked velvety, smooth, and had a natural finish.

As someone who sweats easily, I can be immediately shiny after running errands on an exceptionally hot day, and as the day progressed, my T-zone was noticeably shiny after a couple of hours. Using the Slip Tint powder to take down the shine on my skin was a breeze, but I found that I had to use the powder more often than I would have if I used a mattifying primer.
The next time I did my makeup, I used my go-to primer to keep the oiliness in my T-zone at bay, plus a thin layer of skin tint. The powder set my complexion products well, and overall, my skin felt comfortable. My T-zone needed touching up about three hours after my initial application, which I found impressive for the product’s natural finish. I was able to reapply the powder and reduce shine without my makeup looking thick or the dry patches around my mouth looking flaky.
The Final Review: A new staple product
After testing it out for almost a month, the Slip Tint powder is now a staple in my makeup routine. I had been intermittently using loose powders and setting sprays for the last few months, but I wanted to find a pressed setting powder I would love. I’ve quickly grown to love this product for its lightweight, thin texture, ease of application, and its blurred, radiant finish. My skin still feels comfortable no matter how many times I need to reapply the powder, which is a major plus as someone who does a few touch-ups throughout the day to reduce shine.
After wearing the Slip Tint powder both with and without it, I found that continuing to use a mattifying primer made my skin look its best. Since I sweat easily, this is a critical step in my beauty routine on hot days. The powder gives skin a radiant, natural finish, so I encourage anyone with oily skin to keep my experience in mind. While you can reapply the powder as needed without the application looking thick, you may find that you still need to use a mattifying moisturizer or primer to further minimize shine. That said, this setting powder manages to achieve a radiant, skin-like finish that lasts for hours—a feat that’s much-appreciated in summer humidity, especially for those who want an alternative to more matte products.
