When I described Jenna Ortega’s $75 Stand Oil tote her “affordable fall bag of the week,” I was mostly kidding. It’s not a joke anymore.
Although Ortega once carried a $100,000 Himalayan crocodile shoulder bag by Aupen, the 22-year-old Wednesday star is often photographed toting around capacious carry-alls her fans might actually be able to afford. From the mid-range slouchy hobo bags she steals from her stylist to that reversible vegan tote that costs under $100, Ortega gravitates towards bags that fit a lot of stuff without costing a fortune, all while staying true to her moody aesthetic. If you don’t think Old Navy fits the bill, think again.
On August 27, the Netflix actor became one of the first to carry a piece from Old Navy’s new bag collection, brought to you by Gap Inc. creative director Zac Posen, who also serves as Old Navy’s chief creative officer. Considering Ortega wore a custom Gap t-shirt dress to a red-carpet event that very same week, it’s no surprise she got a hold of one of these bags before the official drop on September 3.

On this occasion, she opted for a roomy black tote with one simple gold buckle. And while the Old Navy Medium Carrie Tote Bag certainly looks luxe when paired with her black crocodile blazer dress and Christian Louboutin heels, it only costs $35.
Of course, Jenna Ortega is not the Carrie tote’s only celebrity fan. Brenda Song was photographed with the bag on August 29, showing off the bag’s casual side on a lunch run while dressed in a white t-shirt, black midi skirt, and mule sandals.
