For Their First Runway Show, L’Enchanteur Took New York Fashion Week 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea

In a conversation over Instagram DM after twin sisters Dynasty and Soull Ogun were named winners of the 2024 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Award last October, their friend and creative agency founder Crystal Anderson described the L’Enchanteur designers as “two of the most magical people I know. So talented. Like two little twins spinning gold.” For spring 2026, the Ogun sisters proved, more so than in seasons past, that they can spin textiles too.

Though clothing has always been part of the L’Enchanteur range—a range that prominently features inventive, mystical jewelry made from fine metals, precious gems and crystals—this season marked the label’s first ready-to-wear runway show. They celebrated the milestone earlier this week, hosting an intimate dinner at Manhattan’s Maison Close with Madre Mezcal. Anderson, Kiesh Herman, Raisa Flowers, and Mickalene Thomas were among longtime friends and supporters of the brand in attendance.

While L’Enchanteur often shows their work through immersive presentations, “us moving in the opposite direction than we usually do, it gives a fresh look at what we’re capable of,” Dynasty said ahead of the show, which the sisters staged on day one of New York Fashion Week in Brooklyn.

Inspired by texts like Jules Verne’s 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea and Paul Gilroy’s The Black Atlantic, the collection explored creatures and mysteries of the ocean, as well as the ways that bodies of water create and connect cultures. “This is a long time coming,” Soull said of the collection, adding that the sisters have been exploring the concept since 2016 and thought their debut runway show was the ideal format to present it.

Following a live selection by harpist Cassie Watson Francillon, models emerged in cotton separates printed with colorful fish; billowy khaki pieces accessorized with octopus-shaped bibs; and plaid looks marked by deconstructed silhouettes. Ruffled collars, tentacle-like carwash hems, and sailor pants further evoked the maritime theme, as did fin-shaped details which flapped on the backs of shirts and along pant seams. Many of the fabrics, Dynasty said, were sourced during a trip to Dominica in 2022, where their maternal grandfather was a fisherman and their late mother was born. “We used actual copper to create different types of fabric [because] copper has healing value and properties.” Linen, known for its naturally high vibration, was also used throughout.

Spring 2026 also marked L’Enchanteur’s official foray into footwear. The sisters have a tradition of seeking out artisans and manufacturers whenever they travel, and while visiting their father in Nigeria last year, they drove by a group of shoemakers and promptly turned around. Leather sandals, flip-flops and loafers made in Lagos appeared on the runway, along with a new assortment of blown glass handbags.
