Raise your hands if you called The Summer I Turned Pretty ending! Well, pretty much everybody who’s ever watched the show called it. Still, now that it’s over, maybe we all want a little recap of how Belly ended things with both of her Fisher boys, and how the rest of our characters have made out (pun intended because why not, life’s short).
After three seasons, The Summer I Turned Pretty finally resolved its love triangle between Belly Conklin and the two Fisher brothers, Jeremiah and Conrad, with one very romantic day in Paris and an equally romantic night. Meanwhile, back in the states, the rest of the crew is finding a way to move on with their lives together or apart. It was a lot to take in, to say the least.
So, if you’re still reeling, which would be understandable, here’s our breakdown of The Summer I Turned Pretty ending. Spoilers ahead!
Does Belly choose Jeremiah or Conrad?
First and foremost, we have to answer the central question to the whole show. Which Fisher brother does Belly end up with? For a moment there, it was looking like Belly wasn’t going to end up with a Fisher brother at all, and was just going to live out her best Parisian life with Benito (and a hot new haircut) instead. Luckily, that is not what happened.
Conrad showed up on Belly’s doorstep and, by the end of the evening, they had done way more than just rekindle their relationship. For a moment, Belly seems to tell Conrad that she doesn’t want to get back together, then changes her mind at the last minute, and has to chase him all the way onto his train in order to tell him she loves him, too. In her final voice-over, Belly says that she stays in Paris for a while longer, but eventually, she returns home to Massachusetts and she and Conrad return to the Cousins house.
What happens to Jeremiah?
Jeremiah is moving on with his life without Belly, and to help him get over his heartbreak, he has thrown himself into his new career as a chef. He has even discovered a potential new romance with Denise—even though she’s about to move to San Francisco.
Are Steven and Taylor still together?
Good news! These two on-and-off-again lovers seem to have put their off-again periods behind them. Steven and Denise’s company have gotten “a lot” of seed money for their new company, but it requires them to move to San Francisco. At first, Taylor is angry with Steven for planning a move to California without telling her (which is reasonable), but they soon sort everything out after a final confrontation. Taylor is going to move to California, not for Steven but with Steven.
Are Laurel and John still together?
Despite their moments of getting together throughout the third season, Belly and Steven’s parents ultimately decide not to rekindle their relationship.
How does Adam leave things with his sons?
Despite never showing it once, Adam finally tells Jeremiah that he’s proud of him—even after Jeremiah declined to invite him to his cooking event.
