On September 18, the 35-year-old actor flipped the script on fall style by taking the most basic summer uniform and turning it into a pap-worthy going-out look. She started by practically shrouding a pair of thin black sandals in a pair of baggy jeans, topping the look off with a basic black T-shirt. However, that was just the base for a luxe black fur shawl, which took the look from Malibu to Manhattan.
This is not your grandma’s fur stole. Well, it could be, but Jennifer Lawrence stripped the garment of its formality by pairing it with care-free basics and a bare makeup look, all while upgrading the entire ensemble for her night on the town. All she had left do do was grab her go-to alligator Lady Bag by The Row and she was instantly transformed into a woman you’d be too intimidated to approach for a cigarette outside Pianos.

From what I can see, Lawrence seems to have stepped out in a pair of black toe-loop sandals, an elevated take on the flip-flop that dominated summer footwear trends in 2025. Still, if you stick to certain styling techniques, basic leather thong flip-flops or slides would create the same blasé effect.

But Lawrence’s luxury accessories aren’t doing all of the work. While her bare manicure created an unfussy contrast with her luxurious layering piece, her moody pedicure helps bring the sandal into fall while adding a touch of elegance to the bottom half of the look.
