It is undoubtedly the summer to be in New York—fueled by the Knicks cinching the NBA championship and World Cup fever pulsing through the heatwave-stricken city. And anyone who managed to snag an invite to Michael Rubin’s famed White Party at his Hamptons estate can add another core memory to the list: Alicia Keys serenading a crowd with Empire State of Mind to the backdrop of fireworks.
Among those taking it all in were Knicks center Karl-Anthony Towns, as well as Jay Z—who features on the very same track. After a brief hiatus last year, Rubin’s annual Fourth of July-adjacent bash returned, drawing a mind-boggling guest list that bridged sports, fashion, and entertainment. Speaking of worlds colliding, the Fanatics CEO made sure to accommodate a certain pop culture bonanza happening in Manhattan on Friday—the wedding of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce—by hosting friends at his waterfront mansion in Bridgehampton on the earlier date of July 1.
Keys wasn’t the only performer on the bill, either. Snoop Dogg also took to the stage, with his longtime cheerleader Martha Stewart front-and-center for his set, as did Lil Wayne and New York-native Cardi B. When there weren’t chart-toppers regaling the room, guests celebrated team USA defeating Bosnia in the FIFA World Cup to advance to the pool of 16—further adding to the electric energy.
Who else was spotted? It may be faster to say who wasn’t Out East soaking it all up.
