One of 2026’s biggest makeup trends? The blurred lip. First popularized by makeup artist Nina Park (and seen on celebrities like Zoë Kravitz, Amal Clooney, and more), the technique is still going strong for summer.
Yesterday at Dior’s fall 2026 couture show, Naomi Watts and her makeup artist Georgie Eisdell put their own spin on the trend by using a shade of bold red. “We wanted to keep the look effortless and modern,” Eisdell says.
The makeup artist shared behind-the-scenes videos of her lining Watts’s lips, then using the lipstick bullet to gently tap on Dior’s Rouge Dior On Stage in shade 550 Red Shine. “With Naomi in black and white, adding that pop of red on the lips felt like the perfect choice, timeless, chic, and unmistakably French,” Eisdell says.

It’s a new technique to achieve the look that Eisdell calls “intentionally blurred, rather than graphic”; the soft-focus finish gives lips a pillowy appearance, making them look bigger. “[It] gives the red lip a modern, effortless finish,” Eisdell adds.
