Handkerchiefs might be all the rage this summer—thanks, in part, to ringing endorsements from the holy trinity of Dua Lipa, Zendaya, and Gigi Hadid—but if we had to locate the origins of the trend in its current iteration, we’d have to say it really took off during the spring 2026 ready-to-wear shows. Not on the catwalks, mind you, but on the fetching heads of those in attendance.
Why, yes, we did spot Rosalía walking into the Calvin Klein show sporting a classic navy blue printed bandanna atop her hair, but beyond that, we also noticed a plethora of those outside the shows topping off their ensembles with a dainty little scarf covering. In Copenhagen, meanwhile, the sartorial flourish continued on, with stylish showgoers embracing the scarf-as-hat in both solid and novelty-print versions. For proof of this growing movement, we’ve rounded up our favorite handkerchief headcoverings spotted on the streets of Fashion Week.
Below, our favorite handkerchief looks as captured on the street.
