That symbolism carried through the party. Spanning different spaces at The Hollywood Roosevelt, including the rooftop, guests moved between tarot readings and jewelry displays and an interactive station where you could unlock a talisman that went along with that of your moon sign, before gathering on the rooftop as the night progressed. On that same rooftop was a telescope, where you could see the moon in its (almost) eclipsed glory.
For astrologer Chani Nicholas, who partnered with Pandora around the launch, the appeal of astrology is less about reducing someone to a sign than giving them another way of understanding themselves. “When you make contact with even one part of your chart and it resonates for you, it’s such a Pandora’s box, if you will,” Nicholas told Vogue, with a knowing wink. “It’s an opening of, ‘Wait, if that is true—then what else is true?’”
That sense of discovery, she said, is part of what can make astrology feel bigger than the shorthand of a horoscope. “If astrology is one of your languages, it will move to you and grab you and say, ‘Let me tell you something about who you are,’” she said. “And when we realize that we are made on purpose, we are unleashed.”
I Love LA star True Whitaker, for one, is already fluent. “I’m a Cancer, so I’m stoked to have all this new Cancerian jewelry,” she told Vogue, before sharing the rest of her big three: a Cancer moon and Gemini rising.
That range of connection—to a sign, a chart, or simply a symbol that feels particularly personal—worked naturally in a room built around the zodiac. Jewelry offers another version of the same impulse: choosing something because the symbol, inscription, stone, or story attached to it carries meaning for its wearer. Pandora creative directors Francesco Terzo and A. Filippo Ficarelli call the Talismans “quiet affirmations,” intended to carry ideas of strength, hope, destiny, and the values their wearers choose to hold onto. The accompanying campaign, photographed by Cass Bird, similarly plays with identity as something that changes over time rather than remaining fixed.
By 9.30 p.m., however, the focus had shifted from birth charts to the stage as Griff performed several songs while Consani and other stars watched. After the chart-toppers final track, guests lingered around the Roosevelt, drinking Sarti spritzes and catching up on the rooftop, underneath the partially-eclipsed moon.
