Consider your fall bag sorted. This season, the Baguette comes in enough guises to suit just about every mood and personality: intricately beaded and embroidered versions, sleek perforated black leather, tiger-striped cavallino, and more. The silhouette may be familiar, but choosing a favorite is another matter entirely. In other words, the Baguette is the one thing your fall wardrobe is asking for.
These bags come from Maria Grazia Chiuri’s fall 2026 collection, her first as Fendi’s chief creative officer—and something of a homecoming for the Roman designer. Chiuri began her career at Fendi, working in accessories from 1989 to 1999, where she was part of the team that developed the original Baguette. Nearly three decades later, the house icon was naturally among the signatures she chose to revisit.
“Less I, More Us,” read the mantra stenciled across Chiuri’s debut runway, a collection that looked back at Fendi’s history while reconsidering its codes for now. That approach is perhaps most apparent in the Baguettes. As Vogue noted in its review, Chiuri sought to “revive the philosophy” behind the original bag, calling upon craft techniques from across the house’s areas of expertise. Embroidery, beading, leatherwork, and fur transform the familiar silhouette, while a new second strap allows it to be slung across the shoulder.
And there is plenty to choose from. One Baguette is covered in a kaleidoscopic geometric pattern of colorful beads; another resembles a tiny textile artwork in dusty pink, green, and turquoise. There are versions intricately embroidered with shimmering beads, a black leather style punctuated with graphic cutouts, and, for the animal-print inclined, tiger-striped cavallino calf leather. Same Baguette, very different personalities.
There’s another reason these particular Baguettes feel especially collectible: Chiuri has a hand in both their past and their present. Nearly three decades after helping develop one of Fendi’s most enduring icons, she’s returned to put her stamp on it once again. Consider these ones for the archives.
