“Sisters, sisters—there were never such devoted sisters!” For Kate and Rooney Mara, the 2026 Venice Film Festival has turning into a sibling affair. The two stars are in town for the premiere of their new film, Werner Herzog’s Bucking Fastards, marking the first time that they’ve worked together on an acting project. (The reviews are in for the film, which is based on the real-life identical twin sisters Freda and Greta Chaplin—many calling it wonderfully weird.)
Given the twinning vibe of it all, it only makes sense that the Maras have doubled up on their glamorous fashions, too. Working with their stylists Johnny Wujek (who does Kate) and Ryan Hastings (who does Rooney), the two actors have been shutting down the red carpet—finding cool, modern looks that are complementary without being too same-same.

The Maras kicked it off with the film’s photo call yesterday, when Rooney and Kate hit the step and repeat in coordinated black and white designs. Rooney decided upon the clean and romantic route in a white halter-style Stella McCartney gown, complete with a ruffled skirt hemline. Kate went a little more ethereal in her black and white McQueen mini dress with lace trimming. Both sisters finished off their looks with minimal white sandals.
