As a—cough cough—Elder Millennial, I miss the “old days” of street style, when it felt like we were capturing the actual style of industry people like models, buyers, and editors. Those days are, sadly, long gone. I took a little time to go back to 2013, when Instagram was still new, and the word influencer had barely hit the lexicon, much less was a full-blown cottage industry.
I picked this one as well, because long before social media exploded, Anna Della Russo was always dressing for the camera—imagined or otherwise. Prada spring/summer 2011 is perhaps one of my favorite collections, and it’s just a joyful snapshot to see her wearing it with such verve. While the head-to-toe of it reads as over the top, the looking-back composition makes it feel just a touch “caught in the moment”. Lo adoro. —Max Berlinger, Senior Fashion News Editor

Few things capture the 2015 street style era as much as this photo—from the skinny jeans to the cat-eye makeup to Lindsey Wixon herself. It ticks off all the boxes of a Tumblr girl’s dreams.—Alexandra Hildreth, Fashion News Writer
