Between London Fashion Week, the Toronto International Film Festival, and the never-ending array of Hollywood premieres. celebrities were out and about—and the best dressed stars of the week were those who went archival. Okay, maybe not everyone was in vintage, but there was certainly a fabulous presence of vintage designs on the step and repeats.
Take Lili Reinhart in New York, who donned a green and pink Elie Saab number from the house’s spring 2004 collection, wearing it to the Love Hypothesis premiere. The playful frock was reminiscent of that famous Uptown Girls dress. For a Chopard party in New York, supermodel Bella Hadid also went archival, slipping into a slinky silver Ralph Lauren gown—complete with Chopard diamonds. For the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art opening night gala in Los Angeles, Kim Kardashian also discovered another fashion deep-cut—a vintage Yves Saint Laurent gown from fall 2004, designed by Tom Ford. That’s care of her new stylist, Law Roach. These nods to the past prove that a great design will always stand the test of time.
There were a few fresh-off-the-runway moments that shined this week, too. At a Specs event in Beverly Hills, for one, Kaia Gerber donned a red sequined tiger-print Proenza Schouler top, fresh off its recent spring 2027 runway debuted last week. In Toronto, Cynthia Erivo opted for a fringed black-and-white Dior dress from the resort 2027 collection—the shaggier, fuller silhouette suggesting that fall’s sensibility for cozy dressing is officially here.
