If the naked dress can sometimes be an exercise in subtraction, Heidi Klum’s Vogue World 2026: Milano look took the opposite approach. While it was entirely sheer, there was plenty to look at. For the evening, Klum wore a black embroidered lace and lingerie-style dress by designer Celia Kritharioti. (While the dress’s provenance is Greek, the look still spoke to the evening’s themes of craftsmanship and human touch.)
The body-contouring gown was transparent from its high neck to its hem, with long sleeves and intricately worked floral embroidery blooming over the bust, navel, hips, and thighs. Black underwear beneath provided the bare minimum of coverage. She kept everything else sleek, wearing barely-there black mules and a silk black clutch.
Glam was similarly classic Heidi Klum. Her layered blonde hair was worn in big, voluminous curls, while bronzed skin, softly smoked eyes, and a pinky-nude lip completed the look. Nails were long and pointed, but also naked with a slick of nude polish. (A nod to the elevated minimalist nail artistry on-show on the runway, too.) It was familiar bombshell territory for the supermodel—femminile divino—but the layers of opulent embroidery gave her favorite naked-dress formula a particularly tactile spin.

The look was right at home among the starry crowd at Vogue World, who watched a five-act show dedicated to Italy’s artisanal legacy. The evening’s opening act, The Artisanal Revolution, specifically paid tribute to Renaissance-era brocades, lace, ornament, and hand-worked surfaces. Lace has a particularly rich history around Milan: so-called Milan lace emerged at the end of the 17th century, while nearby Cantù became one of Lombardy’s great centers of bobbin lace-making, a practice carried out there for centuries.
Not that Klum needs much encouragement to go sheer. The model has long been one of the naked dress’s most faithful devotees. At Vogue World: Hollywood last year, she wore a diaphanous Vivienne Westwood white mini-dress with a buttoned placket and collar cut-outs, rendered in semi-transparent fabric scattered with floral appliqués.
She found a fellow sheer-fashion fan in recent Vogue cover star Dakota Johnson in Milan. Johnson also went for all black, wearing a Valentino velvet jacket with a sculpted basque skirt and flowing transparent train, layered over chiffon and a plunging stretch-lace bodysuit. Elsewhere, body-conscious dressing was something of a Vogue World: Milano refrain. Jordyn Woods chose a sculptural white gown with exaggerated hips and a plunging corset, while Mikey Madison wore a glossy red mini-dress. On the runway, Cardi B shimmied through the Galleria in a clingy, densely printed archival Versace gown.
