The 2026 fall denim trends have made themselves known just in time! As I packed away my shorts and skirts for the season, I considered the surprising number of appearances denim has made on the runways this year, even at couture shows. Chanel, Dior, Toteme, and Khaite spun the historically casual pants into something quite elegant, inspiring me to find ways to emulate the look in my own daily life this season.
Compared to other fall style trends, which constantly explore new silhouettes and colors, denim offers a little more familiarity to creatures of habit like myself. The same six or seven styles rotate under the spotlight year after year, with only a few new additions or washes, ensuring that our favorite jeans will have their time and place again one day.
Barrel jeans may have replaced your mom jeans, and you may prefer baggy silhouettes over skinny jeans, but rest assured that any “has-been” styles will one day become the denim-du-jours again. In the meantime, I invite you to take a look at 2026’s denim trends. Low and mid-rise jeans continue to outrank high-rise jeans this season, while white jeans are being appreciated as a more polished alternative to classic blue. And those straight-leg jeans that soared into popularity alongside all the other ‘90s trends? Their momentum is finally slowing down and passing the baton to silhouettes like bootcut and flare. See more of our favorite denim trends—and where to buy them—below.
