Summer may be over, but its effervescent joy has carried over into the street style trends outside the recent spring 2027 shows despite the cooler days. Take Knicksmania living on through the colors of blue and orange. Support for the iconic New York basketball team was apparent not only throughout New York Fashion Week, but across the fashion capitals (good timing: a new NBA season starts up again in just a few short days).
But blue and orange weren’t the only colors we saw on the streets. A royal violet that we’re calling “Prada Purple” and which had a resurgence at the spring 2026 Prada show last year is now showing up everywhere. It was the must-wear color of the season, oftentimes pleasingly color-blocked with other bold hues like red and green.
Beyond all that rich, juicy color, we saw plenty of runway-first ideas translate into real life, too. The straighter, skinnier pants on the catwalks the last few seasons are now turning up on the streets. This season, the must-have denim style was the almost skinny jean. It has us considering stuffing our beloved baggy styles back into the bottom of our closets.
Meanwhile, the Matthieu Blazy and Michael Rider effects continue to fuel our shopping habits. The feathery floral brooches first seen at Blazy’s Chanel debut in 2025 were the must-have accessory of the moment and as such we saw a lot of interpretations of the It item styled on our showgoers. And Rider’s Celine Maison belt has officially replaced the Gucci Marmont belt as the waist-cincher du jour. The cummerbund is another Rider reinvention that has the fashion crowd going wild for the silk waistband cover. Another trend we’re sure to see when the weather warms up again next year? Exposed bras.
These were the 11 street style trends of the spring 2027 season.
