She went from series regular to guest star in season four and did not appear in season five’s tribute episode for Monteith, who died of an overdose in 2013, sparking rumors of a rift between her and the Glee family. Agron denied those rumors at the time, with other sources claiming her absence was due to scheduling conflicts.
Agron only appeared in a handful more episodes after that, including the series finale in 2015, but has spoken positively about the series on multiple occasions. “This was my dream job,” she told Glamour in 2022. “I grew up on musicals like Funny Face and Singing in the Rain, and American in Paris, so the fact that I found it and found such wonderful experiences in that space, just feels as absolutely what I was meant to do first and what was meant to guide me and teach me. I feel very lucky to have had that. I really, actually can’t believe it, looking back.”
