Yoonchae—member of the beloved girl group Katseye—knows the importance of skincare. And it isn’t just because she grew up in K-Beauty mecca Seoul. “I’m more into a three-step beauty routine than ten,” she says. “I have very sensitive skin that breaks out easily.”
Not ideal for somebody whose full time gig includes rigorous dancing and getting ultra-glammed for events like Fashion Week and the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. But that’s where her new partnership with Dr. Jart—and her curated Glass Skin edit—comes into the equation. “I realized when I would use the face mask, my skin would be calm the next day,” she says of the brand’s Cryo Rubber Moisturizing Face Mask. Now, she’s using it as skincare prep for all of her big events, combined with a beauty trick she learned from YouTube. “I watched all of these videos about people doing face massage before their skincare routine, and it was really amazing,” she says. “So I always do that before I go on stage.”
When it comes to those pop star off-duty days, it’s the brand’s BB cream she relies on. “When I have day off, I don’t usually wear foundation,” she says. “The BB cream is so lightweight, I just put it on with my fingers.”
Now six months after her blonde hair reveal (the entire band went different versions of blonde to welcome a new era), Yoonchae can confirm that the cliché adage of blondes have more fun is, well, actually true. “Oh, yeah. Being blonde feels really different, especially when I’m on stage. I have an entirely different personality with my blonde hair.”
