If you’d told me six months ago that I would one day thoroughly enjoy a movie about Olivia Colman gleefully making love to a pile of wicker in the shape of a man, I might not believe you. But that was exactly the case when I saw Alex Huston Fischer and Eleanor Wilson’s new film Wicker this weekend, co-starring Alexander Skarsgård, Peter Dinklage, and Elizabeth Debicki.

Below, find absolutely every thought I had while watching Wicker.

    1. LOL, I just mistook Black Bear’s production-company title card for the first frame of the movie.
    2. Ew! Fish!
    3. Is that…wicker, perchance?
    4. Never have I been so excited to see a textile.
    5. Olivia Colman! Yay!
    6. Wearing a wicker backpack! Double yay!
    7. Peter Dinklage! Triple yay!
    8. Thinking about Max from Happy Endings calling a wicker bassinet a “whisker basket.”
    9. I wish my studio apartment in Hollywood had a stone fireplace.
    10. We gotta bring back giant, elaborate, beekeeper-ish wedding veils.
    11. I don’t totally get what’s going on with these wicker eggs, but then again, I was opening my peanut butter M&Ms at what may have been a crucial time.
    12. “All right, virgins.” LOL.
    13. I would watch 10 time-lapsed hours of Peter Dinklage’s adorable forest cottage being built on Instagram Reels.
    14. He’s making her a husband!
    15. Out of what, I wonder? 🤔
    16. Are we sure a man is a “perfect being”? Because as someone currently dating in Los Angeles, I beg to differ.
    17. Not Wickerxander Skarsgård!
    18. Damn, he’s really creaky.
    19. Whither the coconut oil?
    20. The wicker man is a bottom?
    21. Hm.
    22. I love Olivia’s little curly pageboy.
    23. Uh-oh, déshabillage!
    24. How the top tables have turned.
    25. This whole scene is kind of giving “having sex with waterlogged patio furniture,” but if it works for Olivia, great.
    26. He’s made of wicker AND he fixes things?
    27. Marry him, diva!
    28. Oh wait, she already did.
    29. I have…splinter questions, let’s just say.
    30. This is a very sexual village!
    31. This blond woman is…not Elizabeth Debicki, is it?
    32. OMG, it is!
    33. Never forget that she is 6’3”.
    34. Everyone in my theater just did an intake of breath at the full-body nude wicker shot (or was that just me and my pervert accomplices?).
    35. Girl, never decline the offer of a new dress!
    36. Damn, Skarsgård looks fine in a white shirt while picking lavender, even when he’s (famously) made of wicker.
    37. Aw, Olivia’s an orphan?
    38. Not to change the subject, but her haircut is only growing cuter to me as this film goes on.
    39. Not loving the phrase “gagging for a solid log.”
    40. Nor “stuff her muffin,” for that matter.
    41. God, men (of the non-wicker variety) are such losers.
    42. Addicted to Olivia’s weird little chapeau.
    43. “Pardon my arse?” is going straight into the lexicon.
    44. Ooh, this childhood-crime reveal is very Alana Haim in The Drama.
    45. Ugh, you can’t even trust a wicker man to stay faithful.
    46. Why on earth does “soup of goose” sound good to me?
    47. It’s crazy that surgery used to just be…sewing.
    48. Or still kind of is?
    49. Love the term “straight-up fetching.”
    50. Sorry, I went to the bathroom, but…wicker baby?
    51. “Strawberry week” is a great menstrual euphemism.
    52. Yep, wicker baby!
    53. Cute!
    54. Sort of.
    55. Nope, gross, actually.
    56. He’s burning!!!!!!!!!!
    57. So many whisker baskets!
    58. Now that’s one charred wicker man.
    59. There’s no wicker-specific burn unit in this village?
    60. Aw, Olivia loves the wicker baby despite it all!
    61. “Fuckable furniture.” LOL.
    62. We gotta bring back the word “whence.”
    63. Wicker baby STUNS in new bonnet!
    64. There’s something so fascinating to me about the wicker man’s eyebrows.
    65. “You are your own, and I promise to love you as that” is actually quite romantique.
    66. As is: “My love doesn’t require a promise.”
    67. A wicker…woman?!?!?
    68. You’ve gone too far this time, Peter Dinklage!
    69. Not the wicker polyamory discourse.
    70. ADDICTED to Dinklage’s funky knit bucket hat.
    71. Like, I’d wear that to Coachella.
    72. I mean, I wouldn’t go to Coachella because I’m 33, but if I did!
    73. “No shame in desiring a third”…this LA movie audience really needed to hear that.
    74. Yes! Leave his ass, Tailor’s Wife!
    75. Ugh, not the Butcher.
    76. Okay, the wicker woman is hot.
    77. And…made of “something more durable”?
    78. Is it too late for me to put together a wicker woman Halloween costume to wear out in four hours?
    79. Get him again, wicker woman!
    80. We love a fatal blackthorn kiss, don’t we, folks?
    81. Is anyone going to set the Butcher’s Wife free, or…?
    82. Aw, wicker family ❤️
