Will Emily in Paris become Emily in Rome?
“We will definitely see more Emily in Rome,” series creator Darren Star told Glamour in October 2024. “Emily [is now] there. There’s an office, and I think the story is taking us there for the moment. So we will spend more time in Italy, but it doesn’t mean we’re leaving Paris.”
But it’s not just Rome; it’s also, Venice, Italy! The series has been filming in the City of Canals during the month of August.
Who in the cast is coming back?
There’s no Emily in Paris without Emily, so Lily Collins is for sure coming back.
Part of the appeal for her is working with costar turned BFF Ashley Park. “I couldn’t love you more @ashleyparklady. I don’t know what I did to deserve a friendship and sisterhood like yours, but I’ll hold onto it for dear life,” Collins wrote of Park, who plays Emily’s roommate, Mindy, on the show. Park shared the renewal news on her Instagram Stories, pointing to a likely return.
As for Emily’s love interests, Deadline reports that all three of her main suitors will reprise their roles in season five. That includes Lucas Bravo, despite some interviews that cast doubt on Gabriel’s return in October 2024.
“The ‘sexy chef’ was very much part of me in season one and we grew apart season after season because of the choices he makes and because of the direction they make him take,” Bravo told IndieWire at the time.
