Rihanna loves a good statement jacket: gargantuan and heart-shaped and engrained into pop culture, fuzzy and animal-print. But sometimes, a simple and nostalgia-tipped staple is all you need.
Stepping out for a spot of grocery shopping at Bristol Farms in Beverly Hills, the pop star sported a denim bomber jacket, the collar nonchalantly and jauntily popped with the waist drawn in by buttons. Underneath, she paired it with a cream, lace-embroidered silk slip skirt and white t-shirt, as well as white, lightly polka-dotted pumps. For jewelry, she opted for her usual layers of gold necklaces including a Back Vault x David Webb head coin pendant, adding a gold wristwatch, embellished anklet, and a series of stud earrings. Never one to be without a pair of high-fashion sunglasses, she wore a soft-edged, oversized shield-like pair with gold detailing.
Glam was per usual too, as she wore her hair slick and straight and a cream manicure (fast becoming a Rih Rih go-to) that coordinated with her outfit.

The jean jacket has long been a Rihanna tried-and-true, season to season. In the cooler months, she makes the case for the Canadian tuxedo, pairing that same denim jacket with body contouring jeans. Worn over slip dresses, track pants, and more masculine tailoring, the ’90s staple has never fallen out of favor with Rih. She’ll even add a denim Dior bag to up the ante, mixing in textures to make the blue jean pop.
And as a known fashion maximalist, even a casual trip for holiday weekend home supplies has to be a little bit of a moment when you’re Rihanna.
