If you had asked me my thoughts on pink hair a year ago, from a trend perspective, I probably would have said it was kind of… “out.” Unnatural hair colors, in general, became as closely associated with the 2010s as flower crowns and Snapchat filters. So it was hardly a surprise that they began to recede as the 2020s — and the “Clean Girl” aesthetic — emerged. But that’s the thing about trends: They can return as quickly as they departed, especially in the social media era. And I’ve got a feeling that pink hair is on its way back — with celebrities leading the charge.
“We’re seeing a significant resurgence of self-expressive color, with clients moving beyond traditional blondes and brunettes in favor of more artistic, individual looks,” hairstylist Jacob Habib Khan told TZR earlier this year. He was specifically describing Pink Lychee, a trendy pastel shade with shiny blonde undertones. “It’s ideal for clients who enjoy expressing their personality through beauty and aren’t afraid to stand out” — a descriptor that, I would argue, applies to every shade of pink, from bubblegum to fuchsia.
If you’re looking for a little inspo for your own unique hair era, you’ve come to the right place. Keep scrolling to check out some of the most memorable celebrity pink hair moments, from Martha Stewart’s recent rose-gold look to a few iconic styles from the Y2K era.
Martha Stewart
Martha Stewart unveiled her new rose gold shade, the handiwork of celebrity hairstylist Chris Appleton, earlier this summer. The transformation took the internet by storm (and might be the biggest thing to happen to pink hair since King Kylie).
Adela
Ascendant pop star Adela has made hot pink hair her signature, working with celebrity colorist Matt Rez to craft her vibrant shade. Considering how few musicians diverge from natural hues these days, I’d say it’s a smart (and striking) choice.
Kylie Jenner
Some people wear unnatural hair colors so well, they almost feel, well… natural. And Kylie Jenner is undoubtedly one of those people. She usually experiments with fun shades via immaculately installed wigs (yes, even back in the 2010s), including here in 2024. But, according to my research, she did rock the real deal for a spell back in 2018.

One surefire way to stand out amongst the crisp whites and classic creams that dominate the Wimbledon color palette? With a hot pink bob, of course. Lucy Boynton proved as much at the 2024 tennis tournament.

Much like pal Kylie Jenner, Hailey Bieber has experimented with pink hair several times over the years. In the spring of 2018, she wore pastel pink styles to both Cannes (seen here) and the Met Gala.
Kim Kardashian

While she isn’t as closely associated with pink hair as her baby sister is, Kim Kardashian has still enjoyed her fair share of cotton candy hair moments, including this 2018 outing and a recent-ish foray in 2024.
Megan Fox
Back in 2024, celebrity hairstylist Dimitris Giannetos gave Megan Fox a “marshmallow pink shag” with the help of a product very familiar to anyone who likes a DIY dye job: Manic Panic.
Katy Perry

Katy Perry has rocked just about every color under the sun — rainbow hair was basically her brand in the 2010s — but pink will always be one of her standouts. (I’d personally rank it right after black and purple, ahead of blue and green.) One of her most memorable rosy moments came in 2011, when she wore a shocking pink French roll on the red carpet at the 2011 American Music Awards.

Though perhaps better known for her icy purple and blonde hairstyles, Lil Kim has given pink a go. At the 7th Annual Soul Train Lady of Soul Awards, she opted for a hot pink look with chunky platinum highlights.

Would any list of pink-haired celebrities be complete without, well, Pink? The singer generally sticks to shades of blonde, but she’s delivered several standout pink-haired moments over the years, including this hot-and-pastel blend bixie in 2001.

Fun fact: Gwen Stefani’s pink-haired era — specifically, this wispy hot pink and platinum blonde look from 1999 — genuinely lives in my head rent-free.
