We’re all on the same page: color is so back. Readers on Instagram and on the Vogue app noted that bold brights were one of the biggest trends of the summer. In a July group chat on the app, readers said they were trying combinations like pink and red and even contrasting colors together. Then, in last week’s group chat, when asked to declare a summer trend, readers pointed to vivid colors, specifically teal and turquoise. (A lot of you all are feeling those summer blues…) Though polka dots, of all things, took the cake as the top trend. (Remember when dot cakes went viral back in June? Not not connected…)
This summer, we dedicated a whole week to covering the new ways big beautiful color made its way from the runways to street style to our very own closets. Our own Alexandra Hildreth, who only ever wears all black, wore bright color to the office for a week, and Christian Allaire reached a verdict: red is now a neutral. We crowned the new Kings of Color. Unquestionably, Vogue readers have an appetite to wear it.
