The sneakers feature an all-over pink blush gradient with a gold Nike swoosh and Clark’s signature logo on the tongue in cobalt blue. Thick, fuzzy laces are threaded with beads and charms: Clark’s spell out her initials “CC” and her jersey number “22.” (The latter is also one of Swift’s biggest songs.)
The trend originated from the song “You’re On Your Own, Kid,” on the 2022 album Midnights, which features the lyric: “So make the friendship bracelets, take the moment and taste it.” Fans began to make custom bracelets and swap them at her shows. (Even Swift’s now-husband Travis Kelce attempted to give Swift a friendship bracelet with his phone number on it at an Eras tour concert in July 2023.)
In a clip shared on the Indiana Fever’s X account, Clark said: “Obviously the friendship bracelet thing has really come back in the last like four years or so, and obviously what Taylor has done has really brought that to life…I think it’s just really cool and really powerful, like, the amount of friendship bracelets that I receive when I’m signing autographs…that’s always what people want to make for me.”
“So, I feel like this is almost something that I can kind of give back to the fans in a way, like you can connect with me,” added Clark.
As for Swift herself? “She likes them,” Clark confirmed.
The basketball star actually teased the collab back in June when playing a home game against the Toronto Temp, wearing bracelets with charms that read “10.01.26” and “Caitlin 1.”
