Hayes Warner has wasted no time getting reacquainted with a New York minute. Back in her hometown after a whirlwind trip to Venice Film Festival, the Los Angeles-based, New York-raised actor has thrown herself straight into the NYFW party circuit, taken her place on the front rows alongside Chloë Sevigny and other stars-of-the-moment, and even carved out time for a trip to the U.S. Open. “Gorgeous clothes. Gorgeous people. Gorgeous food. Gorgeous life,” is how she sums up the week.
Her trip to Khaite’s spring 2027 show yesterday, though, felt particularly special. It marked Warner’s first time attending a presentation by the New York label that she has admired for years—and, waiting on the runway, was a familiar face: her The Shards co-star Kaia Gerber, opening the show.
“I haven’t spent much time back in New York [recently], so coming home and being here for NYFW feels full circle,” Warner tells Vogue. “I grew up in this city, so it’s really nice to be back.”
Getting back to it means being powered by caffeine and a great team—“What gets me there is an iced matcha and good energy all around me”—plus some deeper reflections on life in her hometown. “We’re getting ready by enjoying being back home and having a very, very deep contemplation about how I can move back to New York as soon as possible,” she says.
For her first time sitting on the front row for a brand known for its statement leathers and fluid silhouettes, Warner naturally went full Khaite, pairing a structured leather jacket—already dubbed her “new favorite staple for fall”—with a skirt that brought a hit of color. Icy blonde and sleek curls, with siren eye-led makeup, meanwhile, nodded to a more cinematic reference point: “We went for an old Hollywood Bond girl moment.”
Seeing her peer and the recent Vogue cover star open the show compounded what has been an emotional week. “I told her I was going to screech at the top of my lungs when she comes down the runway,” Warner says. “She very quickly informed me that that probably wasn’t the best idea, but she did promise me a wink. So I hope she holds up her end of the bargain.” (Nothing was captured on Vogue Runway of said wink, sadly.)
