Donatella Versace has a brand-new gig. Today, the designer announced a new beauty and fashion line, in partnership with the Revolve Group.
Donatella assumed the helm of Versace in July 1997 after her brother, Gianni Versace, was assassinated. In March 2025, she stepped down as creative director of Versace—the first time in its 47-year history that the brand was not overseen by a member of the Versace family. Though she passed the creative director reins to Dario Vitale, Donatella retained the title of chief brand ambassador.
“It has been the greatest honor of my life to carry on my brother Gianni’s legacy,” Donatella said upon exiting her role. “He was the true genius, but I hope I have some of his spirit and tenacity. In my new role as chief brand ambassador, I will remain Versace’s most passionate supporter. Versace is in my DNA and always in my heart.”
Donatella certainly brought her DNA to Versace. While her brand of bombshell glamour translated seamlessly to the red carpet, she also grasped the power of dressing celebrities on a global scale. Over her nearly 30 years at the helm of Versace, Donatella outfitted some of the most influential actors and musicians of the era for everything from the Oscars to the Grammys to the Met Gala.
