These are ok.
I was very excited to try these out since they state that you won’t be wasting much product since it has a built in honeycomb plastic piece on them.But, I ended up using my old one because it worked better honestly. It works ok. I have a cheap sponge that still works better though. I’ve tried them both wet and dry. They do work to help keep the product on your face and not inside of the sponge some. But it still has sides that soak some of it up as well that aren’t covered.They’re nice and I’m glad I got a discount on them, because I don’t think I would allow myself to spend twice as much for these when they don’t do as well as I was hoping they would. I had to apply twice the foundation because it didn’t seem as it actually was on my skin, which tells me it was absorbed in the sponge.Also, the sponges aren’t as soft as I would prefer them to be, so if the manufacturers want any tips, I would suggest to make the material less dense so that the product that does seep into the pores of the sponge can actually escape when pressing onto the skin.Just a friendly suggestion, yes I would get it at the half price range of the typical asking for this product, as long as it’s this type of experience I get from the product.A few small Tweeks to the design and make of it and I might would pay asking price.

These are a great buy! foundation spreads nice and easy you don’t waste excess foundation due to the sponge, soaking it in . Even using compressed powder works well with these.

These tri color sponges are just ‘okay’. I wouldn’t repurchase them. They crack very easily during cleaning. There is another brand in Amazon that are a lot better than these.

I almost didn’t test this product because I find the colours so unbecoming, however the honeycomb film got me curious. I am so glad that I tried this 2-pack because that little honeycomb pad makes a big difference over foundation brushes and thirsty foundation sponges. This product is nicely shaped and comfortable in the hand. I find I use way less product and like how the film feels on my skin and how it deposits it there, instead of soaking into the sponge. I wear BB 98% of the time I wear makeup, so tested this product with BB and not heavier, oilier foundation which could produce different results. For my purposes, this is a great makeup sponge and hope to see them offered in some attractive colours outside of the past five years of infernal fifty shades of beige. Buy with confidence!

While this behaves and feels a lot like a sponge applicator, the trick with this is that both sponges in the set have a smooth section on them of an attached somewhat “rubber” surface with small dimples, much like the dimples on a golf ball. This makes these sections hold more foundation, since it doesn’t absorb into the sponge, and then spread more foundation more evenly and smoothly than a typical makeup sponge. We got to use these as a family, one for halloween makeup and the other for my wife over the last couple of weeks.On the positive side — yes! They work! Much like advertised the sponge doesn’t really suck in the foundation or base makeup and you get far better coverage than a typical sponge. For the halloween makeup this made everything easy and smoother and much easier to blend than any of us had experienced before — but honestly we aren’t big makeup people so my son’s and I can just say “yeah, it works”… now my wife on the other hand is a connoisseur, and I think this would be sponge number 8014 in her drawer. She really appreciates makeup that isn’t there — just the right level to enhance her features without becoming heavy or obvious, and she also really likes rather expensive makeup. So the proposition of both blending better and using less was very appealing.In all regards these worked, and got her nod of approval (and mine to the outcome) with a really fantastic outcome — but (and I’m not surprised by this) she highlighted they would definitely take some getting used to. In fact just how much further (or how much less) the foundation went was an initial surprise so it has taken a bit of an adjustment to get used to them. The texture is very different from a typical sponge, but she flips them around and does an initial application with the smooth/nubby part and then blending and fading with the regular fine textured sponge.So, net? If you are doing halloween makeup, these are great! If you are doing fine detailed enhancement and know what you are doing these are ALSO great! Win on all fronts!I don’t know how long they will last however, as it is clear the textured part is adhered to the surface of a traditional sponge, so over time we will have to see how long that says before the edges start to come up. A couple weeks into heavy use they are doing well so far!
