I dabble with skincare so I tend to be relatively aware of current trends but not an early adopter. I’ve been hearing a lot about PDRN and it’s been in mass use long enough for me to pull the trigger on it. These ampoules were a good way to test out a more targeted treatment with it.The format is something I simultaneously love and hate. The individual ampoules help keep the serum fresh and sanitary, but I do find all the extra plastic a bit annoying and wasteful in addition to driving up the cost per use versus a more traditional bottle format. On the other hand, they’re convenient for travel and don’t take up much space if you want to use them as a post-spa/sun treatment. Every ounce counts on my splashier vacations so I try to really reduce the weight and volume of skincare products.Ultimately, the format isn’t a deal breaker but does mean I’ll hold it to a higher standard in order to repurchase. This is probably going to be a targeted use serum versus a daily driver so I’ll be looking for more instant results.The serum is a pretty pink color that tracks with similar offerings I’ve seen from other brands. It’s fairly lightweight and minimally sticky with reasonably quick absorption. I didn’t notice any irritation or negative effects after a week of consistent use but my skin is also pretty tolerant. I think the amount in each ampoule is generous, I’d be able to cover my face and neck twice with the contents if I was actively trying to stretch them.There was a noticeable increase in glow and hydration after a week. There was the tiniest boost from one ampoule but I do feel like you need at least a couple days of use to get a notable result. For me, this is kind of in the awkward donut hole of products that do work but don’t nail it. The price is pretty reasonable, even on the lower end of per dose cost compared to some similar ones I checked but I’m still hesitant to repurchase. I wouldn’t be surprised if other people had more impressive results and it’s inexpensive enough to be worth trying. My skin likely needs something a little stronger to get the results that’d justify single use packaging for me.

Hydrating and Great Under Makeup, Packaging May Not Be for Everyone
I ordered “Salmon DNA PDRN Serum for Face, 99% PDRN Intensive Ampoule, Collagen, Glutathione, Niacinamide & Hyaluronic Acids, Pre-makeup Skincare, Ultra Hydrating Serum, Improves Skin Radiance, 0.05 fl.oz x 15e.” This is the second salmon DNA PDRN serum that I have tried. I liked the other one because it felt a little different than my usual serums, and this one is similar. It has a slightly slippery feel compared to traditional serums, but it soaks in relatively quickly and does not leave my skin sticky or tacky. It also does not have an overwhelming scent, which I appreciate.I really like that it is marketed as pre-makeup skincare because it fits nicely into my morning routine. It does not interfere with any of the products I apply afterward. Some of the serums in my collection only work well at night because they take so long to absorb, but this one hydrates quickly and layers well.At just around $18 for 15 of the small packets, or ampoules, I think the price is okay. If you travel frequently or are very aware of contamination and cleanliness, especially if you do not like using droppers repeatedly, this type of individual packaging could be a great option. For me personally, it feels a little wasteful since I do not travel much, and I am comfortable using traditional serum bottles.Overall, the serum itself worked well and felt good on my skin. It hydrated and improved my skin’s appearance, and it worked perfectly in my morning makeup routine, which I love. I am giving it five stars because it did what it said it would do. I am just not sure that long term I would choose this style of packaging for myself, but for travelers or those sensitive to contamination concerns, it is definitely worth considering.

Noticeable improvement after one treatment
PDRN is some sort of a miracle compound and I don’t care where it came from, it’s wonderful. These ampoules are plastic and easy to open. I found that applying it carefully to my face alongside microneedling made incredible improvements just after one single treatment. The collagen did a great job offering a little volume where things were a touch sunken, it absorbed nice so I didn’t need to apply a serum after (just moisturizer), and after 1-2 days of recovery from the session, I already noticed a more even complexion, a slightly nicer, brighter “glow” (likely from the glutathione and niacinamide) and a softening that wasn’t easily achieved other ways.It’s a great value and since they’re sealed, they seemed to be safe, for me, to use while microneedling. YMMV – my skin is quite thick and microneedling doesn’t typically pierce it too much, but it does allow for the much needed reddening and the skin welcomed the serum.Also – you don’t need to microneedle with this. This works fine as a normal topical.
