Essential oils plus spicules and blue LED, interesting combo but not for me
This is an interesting spicule serum that is applied with a vibrating blue LED light. Blue light is known to help with acne but wavelength matters (and consistency of use and length of session). The info booklet says it’s 460nm, which falls in therapeutic range for acne! That’s good but I’m guessing that it’s not going to do much unless you hold it over trouble spots for 10+ minutes multiple times per week. The idea is great but in practice it’s not very practical for my routine. This serum itself is heavily botanical + essential oil based (tea tree-type ingredients, eucalyptus, peppermint/menthol, rosemary, clary), with a small amount of mandelic acid and some soothing components like centella derivatives and hyaluronic acid. The menthol and essential oils create that cooling sensation, but can easily lead to barrier disruption and delayed congestion, especially with repeated use, depending on your skin type. Spicules can add to the irritation as well. It tingles a little when you pat it in, but make sure to patch test as everyone’s skin and tolerance to spicules and botanicals is different. My skin is pretty finicky and so this isn’t the best fit for me, but your mileage may vary!! At $33 for 15ml, it’s not the cheapest but it does combine LED with spicule formulation, so it’s not bad value if your skin profile is a good fit.

Confusing at First, but Actually Works
I’ll be honest, the first few minutes with this felt like solving a skincare escape room. The instructions were only in Korean, so setup took a bit. The thing to know is that you have to remove a plastic safety tab from the batteries. The flashlight-looking part twists apart in two spots, and that’s where the two coin batteries are hiding. Also worth noting: there is no on button. The silver part is touch-activated. The second it touches your skin, it starts vibrating and the blue light turns on. Once you figure that out, it’s actually very easy to use.Thankfully, it looks like Amazon now has clearer instructions listed, which makes a big difference for new users. As for results, this has been surprisingly effective. My skin has been calming down and clearing up, and it feels super soothing. No stickiness and extra hydration. I have sensitive, sometimes oily skin, and this hasn’t irritated it at all. The tea tree element plus the blue light seems to really help with breakouts and redness over time. The concept is unique, and once you get past the initial setup confusion, it’s a solid addition to a skincare routine. I’d buy this again, especially now that better instructions are available. I’d say it’s absolutely worth the price. Korean skincare is by far the best out there.

Could be Useful for Acne
This Cellology product is certainly innovative; a serum and serum dispenser, blue light therapy and a face vibrator, all in one device.Allegedly the serum particles are extremely tiny so that they can easily enter pores and address issues like inflamed skin and enlarged pores. Blue light therapy is traditionally used to calm acne. The device is easy to use, but the instructions provided in the box are totally written in Korean. So it is important to refer back to the webpage for instructions.Basically, once you unscrew the broad end of the device, remove the plastic that covers the two round batteries. Then, screw the broad end back on and set it in the base. Pull off the clear plastic crystal cap to expose the silver pumper. It takes several pumps to get the clear serum to flow out. Then apply the serum to your face or other problem areas. Put the crystal cap back on, and then apply the opposite end of the device to the areas where you applied the serum. You should feel a light vibration and the blue light comes on. The instructions do not say how long to apply the light to any one area. The clear serum is rather thin (easier to enter pores) and a bit drying on my skin. That would be fine if I actually had acne. However I have not experienced any skin irritation or excessive dryness. So ultimately, I don’t think I need this device for myself, but it could be beneficial for people who have acne. It is reasonably priced and I even saw that Cellology sells replacement serum tubes separately.
