I’m old, male, and never tried anything like this. Now, I swear by it.
I’m an old male and have never tried anything like this on my face or anywhere else, but my skin was feeling rumpled and looking, well, old. I thought that maybe, something like this would help. It has indeed made my face feel cleaner and younger than I’ve felt in years.The closest I’d come to exfoliating in the past was to learn how to spell it, so this is a brave new world. I’ve used it every other day for 2 weeks now and I’m impressed. Maybe it’s just that I’ve never used a facial cleanse or conditioning of any type until now, but for whatever reason, this has made a world of difference in how my face feels.

Gentle scrub
I don’t know what I was expecting from this scrub, but what I got was a pleasant surprise. First of all, there really isn’t much of a scent at all so if you are someone who is sensitive to scents, this may work for you.I think I was expecting a typical sugar scrub type of item but this is not that. The actual product is a lot thicker and the exfoliating “beads” are of a much finer grit than a normal scrub. It really is super gentle on your skin. I haven’t tried it on my scalp yet but it worked great on my face and has become a part of my normal routine now.

This scrub is different than I expected, but in the end, that is a good thing!Rather than having large, hard particles of salt or sugar, the exfoliant in this seems to be sodium bicarbonate (baking soda), which has a very fine grain. This scrub isn’t super oily like some that have exfoliant particles that sink to the bottom and an oil layer on top, rather, it is very well blended and has a more solid, balm-like texture, but with a softly gritty feel rather than a smooth one.After testing this on my hand, I realized it would be too drying for my face, especially in the winter, but it dawned on me that it had a texture similar to my favorite discontinued scalp scrub. I used to use a scalp scrub infrequently, on the day after coloring my roots, because the dye would alter my hair texture enough to make it somehow too shiny and slippery, and the scrub “roughed it back up” a bit. I’m not saying this to lead anyone else to do this, because I’m sure hair/scalp type and type of hair dye matter here, but hey, I’m thrilled that this works exactly like my old favorite, leaving my hair with volume at the roots and not disrupting or removing the color.I also discovered that this is great for washing hands after a dirty day at work, which for me can include grease, actual mud, pond muck, gasoline spills, and more.The best part, for me, is that it is not perfumed at all, and in fact has very little if any scent.While I don’t think my drier face skin could handle this, it is extremely versatile and I find it very useful in a few ways!

When I first opened this Niacinamide & Vitamin C Exfoliating Scrub I couldn’t get my finger in it to remove some, I thought there must be a clear plastic cover over the scrub. I felt silly when I realized it was simply very firm, almost hard. Thankfully it comes with a handy scoop that works perfectly for removing the scrub from the jar. The consistency isn’t a bad thing, I rather like it actually. I’ve never used a scrub this firm but I learned it works in the scrub’s favor making it easy to scoop out just the amount I need without waste.Though the scrub is hard it melts quickly with body heat. I didn’t have much success using this on my scalp, it clinged to my hair and by the time I worked it to my scalp the exfoliation had dissolved. But as a face and body scrub it’s wonderful. I don’t think I’ve ever used a scrub with such fine grit. I was skeptical at first but my skepticism was short lived. It turned out to be gentle yet effective, and unlike other scrubs it doesn’t burn or irritate my skin.There’s a lot to love about this generously sized, unscented, gentle, and effective scrub that leaves my skin soft and clean without irritation or tightness. Highly recommend!

Good for exfoliating
This scrub is nice smelling, and actually does a good job of exfoliating and keeping my face feeling nice and clean. It comes in a large package as well and will last quite some time. I use it primarily on my face and I believe that I’ve been having less breakouts and feeling fresher after using. Its worth trying in my opinion as you get a good amount for the price and it works well. Perfect addition to my bathroom and morning routine.
