I bought this pearl makeup sponge as a small gift for my wife, and she absolutely loved it. She mentioned right away how soft and luxurious it feels compared to other makeup sponges she’s used.What really stood out was how little product she needed to get a smooth, flawless finish. The pearl-infused sponge blends beautifully, giving her makeup a very natural and polished look without looking heavy or cakey.She’s used some well-known, expensive makeup sponges before, and honestly, this one performs just as good — if not better — at a much better price. Great quality, elegant feel, and a thoughtful gift that actually gets used. Definitely a win.

🦪 The Girl With The Pearl Beauty Sponge
These beauty sponges genuinely perform well – soft, bouncy, good expansion when damp, don’t gobble up product, and clean up easily. They’ve held up through many uses and washes with no deterioration. So as a sponge? Solid.It’s the pearl-powder angle where my beauty-nerd brain gets side-eye-y. The brand says the pearl infusion boosts skin radiance, which sounds lovely, but I can’t detect any transfer to my skin even when squeezing hard on a damp sponge with no product.Theoretically, pearl powder embedded in foam might subtly affect texture, density, or how it releases product – and the bounce is nice – but I can’t attribute that specifically to the pearls vs. just good foam design. Skeptic’s verdict: probably more marketing sparkle than functional skincare.Two things worth flagging for potential buyers:First, the listing calls these “cruelty-free,” but pearls are derived from oysters, which means they’re not technically vegan, and the cruelty-free claim is at minimum debatable.Second – and this one’s probably just a fluke – when I used my usual HOCl spray to sanitize the sponge after washing, it immediately created a khaki/ecru stain. HOCl is an oxidizer, and I suspect it reacted with either the polyurethane foam or proteins in the pearl powder. It didn’t seem to damage the sponge, but it was unexpected, and I haven’t seen it happen with other sponges I sanitize the same way. Heads up if you’re an HOCl fan like me.TLDR: Great, high-quality sponge, questionable pearl claims, not actually vegan – and HOCl users, patch-test your sanitizing routine first.

Daily use
This blends foundation smoothly and evenly. I like that it’s plant-based and free from latex and dyes. It feels gentle on the skin, and I haven’t experienced any irritation or weird smell in the past couple of months.It has the classic shape which makes it easy to reach around the nose and under the eyes, and it bounces well rather than dragging across the skin. It also rinses out clean without breaking down or tearing after a few washes.

Soft and Natural, Great for Everyday Makeup
I really like these beauty sponges overall. They’re soft, blend makeup well, and work nicely with both liquid foundation and powder. Once damp, they expand to a good size and feel gentle on the skin.I also appreciate that they’re plant-based and eco-friendly. It’s nice to have a makeup tool that performs well and also feels like a better choice for the environment. They don’t have a strong smell and feel clean and natural out of the package.

Excellent for foundation application and blending
These beauty sponges are excellent for applying my homemade foundation cream. They pick up product easily and have a nice springy bounce when I press them against my face. They distribute my foundation smoothly and evenly. I’ve found they give me a faster, smoother finish than my stippling brush.I usually only use my foundation in smaller areas to cover redness, not across my entire face. So, if the edges aren’t well-blended, it’s really noticeable. These little sponges work well. I can cover the red areas on my cheeks without applying more than necessary, and I can’t even tell I’m wearing anything once I finish using these sponges. With a stippling brush, it takes more effort, and the results aren’t quite as good.In addition to being excellent for application, these sponges rinse clean very easily. With just a touch of soap, a squeeze, and a rinse, these sponges are bright white again. I leave it to dry on top of my jar of foundation when I’m finished. By the next day, the sponge is completely dry and ready to use again.Overall, these sponges are excellent, and I’ll order them again without hesitation when I need more.

Softs springy sponges blend foundation well (but are actually NOT vegan)
These sponges work great- they gives a nice even coverage to my foundation and also seamlessly blend my concealer. They are soft and springy but still hold their shape well when wet. I feel like the pear-infused part is just a gimmick-if the pearl powder was getting out of the sling onto your skin it would mess with your makeup color and my makeup looks fine/great using them.However since you get 3 in the pack, I think the price is pretty good. I am never quite sure how to adequately wash sponges (even with soap does the inside get sufficiently washed?) so with 3-in the pack when one starts to get too grimy you can just get the next one out.I don’t really understand why the company chose “bum fuzz” as their name because I don’t want to wipe my face with someone’s butt hair. But despite the name the sponges work great!Note: most OTHER makeup sponges are vegan and cruelty free because they are not made of animal products and they do not put chemicals onto your skin so there is no reason to test them on animals. HOWEVER- pearls are a product that comes from oysters- and often kills the oysters to extract the pearl, so these specific sponges are NOT vegan or cruelty free and this is false advertising.So I think the company need to stop claiming the sponges are vegan and cruelty free when they contain an animal product, but oysters are not vertebrates and many people don’t care about the feelings/treatment of invertebrates.But regardless, the sponges work well – just the pearl part is a gimmick that also makes the sponges NOT vegan or cruelty free if you care about that towards invertebrates.
