I am 32 and have sensitive combination skin that tends to get rough, especially on my cheeks and temples. I usually have to deal with it with some kind of scrubby washcloth, which does the job, but leaves me irritated and red.I wasn’t sure what to expect from this. I wasn’t totally sure what soft peeling gel was. But I was very pleasantly surprised by how it works. The gel gently removes dead skin from my face – it literally just pills up and rinses off – and left me smooth, calm, and not irritated. I actually couldn’t really believe how well it worked. My face was even smoother than when I use my manual exfoliation.I’m really impressed with this and have already bought some for a friend with similar texture issues. This will be a staple in my routine.

Contains essential oils and limonene, potential irritants
I have had very mixed experiences with products from pongdang; some of their formulations are great but a lot of the ones I’ve tested recently contain unnecessary fragrancing ingredients or essential oils that can become irritants, especially when oxidized. This is another example of one of those products, as it contains orange peel oil, bergamot oil, and limonene, none of which are good for your skin and all of which can cause irritation if you’re sensitive. Those ingredients stacked in an exfoliating “peel” made me hesitant to try this, but my barrier is pretty healthy and I don’t have particularly sensitive skin so I gave it a shot last night after cleansing. At the time, I had thrown out the box and didn’t have immediate access to my photo that included the instructions, so I just applied it to dry skin, rubbed it around a bit, and rinsed. It contains gentle physical exfoliants in the form of cellulose, which help to gently slough off dead skin cells, and I do appreciate that it also contains Ceramide NP to help support the barrier, but I have similar products from other Korean brands that don’t contain the potential irritants and give the same physical sensation of a soft physical exfoliant that sort of balls up as I rub it on my face, but without any of the “icky” stuff. I don’t know why any skincare company in the year of our lord 2026 wants you to put bergamot oil on your face, but I’d generally advise against it. My skin did feel soft and smooth after using this and I didn’t experience any irritation, but as this continues to oxidize now that it’s opened it becomes more and more likely to become an irritant. I’m just gonna stay away from this one in favor of brands that skip the essential oils and limonene.

Tomorrow I’ll be following it with the new facial wrap mask you leave on all nightIt was on sale for 13$ last night and I had just come home from Ulta after I had seen it there but realized I hadn’t brought my debit cardSo I ended up having a day wait but 7$ is worth waiting for.
